No roads, no cars and no shops. The Little Black Shack is surrounded by the bush, the sea and the sky.
The Little Black Shack is just that, a shack – albeit a very cosy and comfortable one. It’s a place where you can feel the wind in your hair and the sand between your toes as you get in rhythm with the seasons, the weather and the tides.
On the water’s edge of Pittwater’s pristine Western shore, an old fisherman’s shack has been turned into a private eco retreat. Ingrid & Jamie’s ambition; positively influence the environment and guests, one couple, one weekend at a time.
To get to your new workplace at the Little Black Shack you’ll have to take a boat as there are no roads. The shack is perched on the waters edge and your desk overlooks Great Mackerel Beach, Pittwater, Palm Beach, Broken Bay and beyond.
Although just an hour from Sydney and a mile from Palm Beach, once here, you’ll feel a million miles from anywhere. This original timber and sandstone fisherman’s cottage on the waters edge of beautiful Mackerel Beach in Pittwater, has been lovingly restored into a secluded beach and bush hideaway.
The shack is not for everyone. If you want 5 star luxury, night life and celebrities you might prefer to stay in Palm Beach. If you want real stars, wildlife, peace, quiet and a place to connect with and appreciate nature and each other, you might want to jump on the old wooden ferry ‘Myra’ and cross Pittwater to Mackerel Beach. Oh, and there’s an all important Espresso machine.
